📄 Job Description

As the VP – Campus Construction Manager, you will be instrumental in Galaxy’s expansion, overseeing all aspects of data center construction from groundbreaking to handover. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing daily on-site construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and compliance with design documents and Galaxy’s standards.
  • Directing general contractors, trade partners, and vendors to ensure alignment with project milestones, quality expectations, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to support system commissioning, testing, and seamless turnover of facilities.
  • Enforcing Galaxy’s stringent safety standards and partnering with internal and contractor safety teams to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
  • Monitoring construction progress against the master schedule, identifying potential delays, and coordinating mitigation strategies to maintain critical timelines.
  • Ensuring all construction activities meet Galaxy’s QA/QC standards and design specifications, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Leading site-based resolution of RFIs, field issues, and change management processes in coordination with engineering and project controls.
  • Coordinating delivery and installation of owner-furnished contractor installed equipment (OFCI) such as UPS, generators, chillers, and switchgear.
  • Providing input on pay application reviews, change orders, and budget tracking to support accurate cost control and forecasting.
  • Maintaining close communication with Galaxy’s internal teams including design, engineering, construction, operations, and security.
  • Supporting Galaxy’s initiatives around modularization, prefabrication, and LEAN delivery methods to enhance efficiency and repeatability.
  • Working with local authorities, inspectors, and consultants to ensure all construction activities meet applicable codes and regulatory requirements.

📌 Requirements

We are looking for an experienced leader with a deep passion for construction excellence and a track record of success in complex projects. Minimum requirements include:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience leading large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects (e.g., data center, industrial, or utility-scale).
  • A deep understanding of various construction delivery models, robust risk management strategies, and effective vendor oversight.
  • Technical fluency across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), civil, and structural systems.
  • Proven success in managing Owner-Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment and coordinating commissioning efforts.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% to various site locations as required.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry-leading tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, BIM 360, Bluebeam, MS Project, and SharePoint.
  • Professional certifications like PMP, LEED, or other related credentials.
