📄 Job Description
- Data Infrastructure & Engineering: Taking full ownership of data needs, from extraction to storage, and collaborating with tech teams to design robust data pipelines.
- Proactive Analysis & Intelligence: Working extensively with complex datasets, particularly client transactional data, to identify fraud trends, analyze case specifics, and uncover emerging risks.
- Process Transformation: Leading the transition from manual, spreadsheet-based data processes to a scalable and efficient data environment.
- AI & LLM Enablement: Preparing and structuring datasets to be readily consumable by Large Language Models, driving efficiency and leveraging AI capabilities.
- Tooling & Visualisation: Championing modern technology to build and maintain insightful dashboards and automated reporting, developing effective MIs and KRIs.
- Model Calibration & Assurance: Providing analytical support for the calibration, testing, and assurance of Transaction Monitoring models to ensure optimal performance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serving as the primary subject matter expert on financial crime data, providing clear Management Information and strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
📌 Requirements
- Proven, extensive experience in a data science, data analytics, or data engineering role, preferably within financial crime, risk, or compliance in the payments, crypto, or banking sectors.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and BigQuery for complex data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Data modeling experience is a bonus.
- Hands-on experience with a programming language like Python and TypeScript for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Demonstrable experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Looker), with a proven ability to tell compelling stories with data.
- Experience in building robust data pipelines and working with engineering teams to establish best practices for data storage and management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of synthesizing complex information and providing practical advice to non-technical audiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously, proactively prioritize, and manage work effectively in a fast-moving business and evolving regulatory environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
