As a Performance/Chaos Engineer at Binance, you will be crucial in ensuring the robustness and resilience of our blockchain ecosystem. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Translating complex business and technical requirements into comprehensive performance and chaos test strategies.
  • Actively participating in and driving the design and implementation of architectural and code-level optimizations.
  • Collaborating closely with DevOps teams to guarantee exceptional production high availability.
  • Designing and executing sophisticated performance and chaos test strategies to validate Load, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability standards.
  • Independently analyzing, solving, and correcting system issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
  • Implementing Chaos Engineering principles within the CI/CD pipeline to identify weak links and propose effective solutions.
  • Developing innovative tools to automate performance and chaos monitoring, testing, and issue analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of stability (performance/chaos) bottlenecks and provide effective solutions.
  • Proven skills in troubleshooting performance and chaos issues within microservice architectures.
  • A track record of performing chaos testing to build confidence in production system resilience.
  • Possess an architectural mindset with the ability to review system architecture, derive Chaos Strategies, and expose vulnerabilities.
  • Solid expertise in Java performance analysis and tuning.
  • Proficiency with databases such as MySQL, Mongo, and similar.
  • Familiarity with middleware analysis and troubleshooting (e.g., Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ).
  • Hands-on experience in setting up robust test environments.
  • Experience with containerization and Kubernetes technology.
  • Comfortable with Linux, including both tools and systems administration.
  • A strong passion for driving Performance, Scalability, and Reliability across all systems.
  • Proven use of leading Performance/Chaos engineering tools (e.g., K6, Jmeter, Chaos Blade, Chaos Monkey, Gremlin).
  • Mandatory proficiency in Java; familiarity with Go/Rust is a significant advantage.

Desirable Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud).
  • Experience in setting up and managing monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Prior experience in performance/chaos testing specifically in production environments.
  • Expertise in triaging production performance and chaos issues.
  • Advanced Linux performance analysis skills.
  • Experience working effectively within a distributed team setting.
