📄 Job Description

At Gauntlet, we build sophisticated solutions that apply off-chain intelligence to drive on-chain efficiency. We empower our partners to monitor, understand, and capitalize on economic risk, consistently measuring success with clear, trusted metrics. As Product Manager for Data and Reporting, you will be at the forefront of this mission:
  • **Strategic Metric Ownership:** Own the roadmap for Gauntlet’s core product metrics and reporting, defining clear goals, success criteria, and SLAs for freshness, coverage, and quality.
  • **Single Source of Truth:** Build and maintain a definitive source for internal metrics, encompassing flows, revenue, TVL, growth attribution, and detailed financial reporting per vault and platform feature.
  • **Data Pipeline Partnership:** Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to scope instrumentation, tracking plans, schemas, and ETL processes, providing precise product requirements for robust data pipelines and dashboards.
  • **Cross-Functional Enablement:** Support critical workflows across Finance, Growth, and Engineering, ensuring seamless reconciliation of product telemetry with booked revenue and cash movements.
  • **Executive Reporting:** Deliver insightful, executive-ready dashboards and narratives that directly inform prioritization and accountability across various product lines.
  • **External Transparency:** Champion external transparency standards, ensuring Gauntlet App metrics align with third-party aggregators, with a strong focus on DefiLlama parity and consistent public definitions.
  • **Metrics Governance:** Publish and govern a comprehensive company-wide metrics catalog, including definitions, edge cases, backfills, and change logs.
  • **Quality Assurance:** Establish rigorous data QA gates, including anomaly detection, backtesting, schema validation, and rollback plans for any metrics changes.
  • **Adoption & Trust:** Drive widespread adoption by training stakeholders, documenting self-serve workflows, and actively collecting feedback to continuously improve usability and trust in our data.
  • **Community Engagement:** Represent our metrics in customer and community contexts, coordinating with Communications and Business Development on public reporting and disclosures.

📌 Requirements

We are looking for a highly analytical and articulate professional who can translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic product direction:
  • **Experience:** 3+ years in Product Management or Data Product roles, demonstrating end-to-end ownership of metrics and reporting within fintech, crypto, or other analytics-heavy product environments.
  • **Technical Foundation:** An engineering degree or equivalent practical engineering experience.
  • **Analytical Prowess:** Strong analytical toolkit, with required SQL proficiency and comfort using Python for exploratory analysis and quality assurance.
  • **Data Modeling:** Proven track record building instrumentation and data models alongside product teams, including familiarity with event design, schema versioning, and ETL change management.
  • **Communication:** Exceptional clarity in writing and storytelling, with the ability to transform complex data into crisp decisions and well-defined roadmaps.

Bonus Points:

  • Hands-on experience with DefiLlama or other crypto aggregators, subgraphs, and on-chain indexing.
  • Prior ownership and management of a company-wide metrics catalog.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) and data stack tools such as Hex, Mode, Looker, BigQuery, dbt, or Airflow.
  • A deep understanding of common measurement pitfalls, including attribution bias, survivorship bias, and schema drift on EVM logs.
  • Experience partnering directly with Finance teams on revenue reporting, reconciliation, and monthly close processes.
  • Strong domain fluency in DeFi metrics, on-chain data, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for vaults or protocols.
